The Blowing Lewinsky haben nicht nur einen klingenden Namen, sie sind auch sonst ein Klangerlebnis der ganz besonderen Art. Nach einem Wechsel des Gesangs und der Gitarre, im Jahr 2002, arbeiten nun Johann Gimplinger und Moser Thomas an den E-Gitarren und Andreas Hofer am Bass. Als Schlagzeuger ist Bernhard Fasching angestellt und mit der Aufgabe des musikalischen Sprachrohrs ist Hofer Volker betraut. Eine Einordnung der Band in gängige musikalische Kategorien gestaltet sich auf den ersten Blick als schwierig, zu facettenreich ist ihre Musik, die bei näherem Hinsehen grob unter dem Deckmantel des Nu-Melodic Pop-Rock zusammengefasst werden kann. Zeitweise können es die Künstler nur schwer verleugnen, musikalische Kinder der subkulturellen Neunziger zu sein. Verstellen sollen und wollen sie sich auch gar nicht: The Blowing Lewinsky stehen für Musik mit Ecken und Kanten, die durch ehrliche Authentizität besticht und nicht immer ganz leicht zu verdauen ist, aber tief in die Gehörgänge geht.
